Revised Recommended levels for Community Water Fluoridation

On Friday January 7, 2011 the Department of Health and Human Services announced a revision in their recommended levels for optimally fluoridating community water systems.  They are continuing to recommend that community water supplies be fluoridated, but have lowered the high end of the range considered optimal.

CNN investigative report on toxic chemicals includes dental materials

On CNN's website they cite dental sealants as one source of BPA.  We also know that BPA can be found in most tooth colored (composite) filling materials so we felt it was important to educate our patients on this issue.  We refer you to a statement that has been posted on the website of the American Dental Association(ADA) since 2008, and which has been provided to CNN:

We were amazed at the generosity of the children and their parents as we collected 218 pounds of candy and shipped all of it to our troops overseas!
