Tooth Whitening
A bright smile can do wonders for your appearance and uplift your mood. Now, with the Opalescence® Xtra BOOST™ Whitening system, dramatic results are more attainable than ever. Trays and whitening strips can take up to a month to have any noticeable effect, while Hale & Downey Family Dentistry can whiten teeth by eight shades or more in 45 minutes. In-office whitening involves the application of a hydrogen-peroxide-based gel which bleaches the teeth when exposed to a high-intensity light. We also offer take-home Opalescence® Xtra BOOST™ Whitening, which is completed at home in three days. If you prefer to whiten your teeth at home, our office will construct customized trays for your teeth, which you will wear for three to six hours a day. In minimal time, you will see firsthand how a white smile can refresh and brighten your entire face.
Invisalign®
The clear alternative to braces.
Invisalign® uses a series of clear aligners that are custom-molded to fit you. The virtually invisible aligners gradually reposition your teeth into a smile you'll be proud of.
Why people prefer Invisalign®
The convenience and ease of use of the Invisalign® system have made it the choice of over half a million people. In fact, Invisalign® has been effective in giving hundreds of thousands of people amazing new smiles.
No metal wires or bands to irritate your mouth, and best of all, most people won't notice you're in treatment. Invisalign®, the clear alternative to braces, has been chosen by over 500,000 people who want amazing smiles.
Bonding
Dental bonding is a simple procedure which can repair teeth affected by chips, cracks, decay, and discoloration. After using a shade guide to determine the precise shade of your teeth, Dr. Hale or Dr. Downey will apply a color-matched composite resin to your tooth. This resin is smoothed down and molded over the tooth. A high intensity light is then used to harden the resin, which will be shaped and polished to match the texture and contours of your natural teeth.
Veneers
Veneers can dramatically improve the appearance of stained, crooked, and worn-down or broken teeth in just three office visits. We will cast an impression of your teeth and arrange for your resin or porcelain veneers to be custom made. Drs. Hale and Downey can color-match the veneers with your existing teeth or help you choose a lighter, complementary shade. Before applying veneers, the surface of the tooth is prepared so that the size, shape, and color of the veneers will be indistinguishable from your natural teeth. Special cement is then used to bond veneers firmly to the teeth. With proper care, veneers will give your smile a natural-looking brilliance for years to come.
Crowns
When a tooth becomes broken, worn down, or discolored, a dental crown can restore its appearance. Dr. Hale or Dr. Downey will first examine the existing tooth for decay and make an impression of the tooth that will be fitted with a crown. A temporary crown will be attached to your tooth while the new crown is manufactured. Once the new crown is ready, Dr. Hale or Dr. Downey will check its fit and color against your existing teeth to ensure a natural feel and look. Crowns may be color-matched to teeth to ensure the most natural looking restoration possible. The crown is then cemented to the tooth and ready for many years of wear. Bridges
Dental bridges can restore the smiles of those with missing teeth. Dental bridges are composed of a replacement tooth or teeth supported by two crowns, which are placed over the remaining natural teeth on either side of a gap. Dr. Hale and Dr. Downey will first prepare each tooth adjacent to the gap and make impressions of the teeth to use in constructing the crowns. A temporary bridge is applied until the permanent bridge is made. Before cementing the bridge to teeth, Dr. Hale or Dr. Downey will check and adjust the bridge for fit and appearance. Bridges greatly help patients with missing teeth to correct problems with speaking and chewing and achieve more attractive smiles.
